Sortie le 19 Novembre 2021, le livre “ Je me relève” aux éditions Anne Carrière, énumère des violences sexuelles et domestiques dont Maïmouna a été victime. Elle y explique comment elle est arrivée à conceptualiser la Booty Therapy afin de faire acte de résilience.
Un jour de novembre 2014, Maïmouna Coulibaly participe, en région parisienne, à un atelier autour de la Journée internationale pour l’élimination des violences faites aux femmes. Elle est là en tant que chorégraphe et danseuse, elle est là pour apprendre aux femmes à « booty shaker », à bouger bassin et fesses sur des musiques afro-urbaines, à se sentir libres et puissantes. Elle a inventé le concept, c’est de la « Booty Therapy ».
Mais, avant de danser, les femmes parlent. De violences sexuelles en tout genre. Et Maïmouna ouvre alors les yeux sur son passé : une excision, des viols, de la violence domestique… L’ex-gamine des cités a traversé beaucoup d’épreuves.
Avec virulence, énergie et authenticité, Maïmouna fait le récit de son parcours, dans lequel elle a puisé une force, une puissance hors norme, qu’elle transmet aujourd’hui à travers la danse.
